Ron Agam’s Art Life Gallery is proud to announce Cecilia Rodhe’s newest exhibition, The Promise, starting September 14th, 2006.


Composed of 15 egg-shaped marbles, as well as film and sound, The Promise is a logical follow-up to Cécilia Rodhe’s previous exhibitions. Once again, the Swedish born artist explores the notion of femininity in all of its dimensions.


" The organic shape of the egg represents the duality between strength and fragility, a duality that each of us has to face, " explains Cécilia Rodhe. " In my work, the egg not only becomes a symbol of creation, but also of our need to invent and reinvent ourselves. In this confusing, violent world, these perpetual renewals become a sign of what is possible, a sign of hope".


The Promise is the first work exhibited by Cécilia Rodhe since June 2004 when In Oneness was shown at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York and then permanently installed in Atlantic City (New Jersey). This sculpture, a six-feet tall bronze ordered by the Betty and Milton Katz Center of Atlantic County, corresponded to a "new direction in Cécilia Rodhe’s career," according to the architect Frank Gehry.
